Burning Permits
Effective April 1st – October 31st
Under the authority of Township of James’ By-Law #03-21 and the Ministry of Natural Resources Municipal Forest Fire Management Agreement, NO fire permits will be issued for open burning within the Township of James. Failure to comply may result in charges under the Forest Fire Prevention Act, R.S.O. 1990.
Burning is allowed only in incinerators that must be inspected and approved by the Fire Department before a permit will be issued.
You are asked to contact the Elk Lake Fire Department by calling (705) 648-4903 or (705) 678-2320 to obtain a permit.
Winter Road Maintenance
Effective November 1st, 2024 to March 31st, 2025
do NOT PARK VEHICLES ON MUNICIPAL ROAD ALLOWANCES to allow for efficient snow removal.
RE: PUSHING SNOW ONTO ROADWAYS
No person or persons shall deposit or cause to be deposited any snow, ice or other debris onto any highway or municipal road allowance within the municipality.
Your co-operation is anticipated.
Regular Council Meeting Location
All future Council Meetings will be at the LEGION.
Join us at the Legion on the SECOND Wednesday of each month.
Submissions should be sent to info@jamestwp.ca or dropped off at the Township office at least 72 hours in advance.
