2026 Draft Budget
N O T I C E
Chapter 251 of The Municipal Act, 2001 requires the Township of James to give notice of the passage of certain by-laws.
Council for the Township of James will adopt the 2026 Budget and set tax rates at the July 08th/26 Regular Meeting.
2026 Taxes to be raised total $917,000.00 which reflects an increase of 5.9% for residential rate payers.
For example: A home assessed by MPAC is set at $120,000, 2026 taxes would be calculated to be $1,624.40. 2025 Taxes for the same home were $1,533.90. The 2026 increase in taxes would be $90.50 or $7.60 per month.
A copy of the ‘draft’ 2026 budget is available for public review at the Township Office during business hours from Monday to Friday until 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 08th/26. All signed, written submissions regarding the 2026 budget will be reviewed by Council at the July 08th/26 Regular Meeting.
